26 July 2026 – Mestre Onça Negra – Laurindo Dario dos Santos
R.I.P. 24 July 2026. I’ve heard he was around 90 years old, but I don’t know for sure. He was Mestre Bimba’s adopted son – he became his Capoeira student and an influential Mestre, as well as a renowned atabaque player.

Found this randomly, 1980 Goiania Capoeira championship… Not entirely sure what is going on here…
We sang this song in class today, as Mestre Poncianinho payed homage to Mestre Onça Negra and his work in Capoeira.
