A Sepultura song came up randomly on my music player giving me a light bulb moment and the inspiration for this list. If you can think of any add to the comments list or ping me! - A classic song about the berimbau (Berimbau – Baden Powell – Vinícius de Moraes). The original didn’t have a berimbau in it, but I found this version that does.
- Same song again, but this time with Nara Leao. I like her so I’m including her on the list. There are 100s of versions/interpretations of this song, this is one of my favourites.

- How could I have forgotten this? I listened to this CD non stop when I was at university, pretty much everyone did, what a classic! I played it yesterday in the car (25/12/2016), the whole album still sounds unique. Leftfield – Afro-left (Leftism 1995)

- Chico Buarque – Deus lhe Pague (Construção 1971) – One of the best albums ever made by one of my most favourite artists of all time!

- Lourimbau – Branco com Preto. Mestre Poncianinho played this in class. Beautiful!

- Mestre Geraldo e sua bateria – Batucada genial (1977) – A classic, can’t help but feel happy and dance when I hear this. Full album, the berimbau is in there somewhere 😉

- Divan Gattamorta – Senzalma. Divan is a Brazlian composer who makes music for comtemporary dance, amongst other things. Poncianinho introduced us to his music.

- Capofreshin – can’t find the lyrics for this, sadly, or much info apart from what’s under this video. I first heard in watching Capoeira Crush video.

I tried to make the same playlist on Spotify but too many songs aren’t there. And that is why I don’t use Spofity. It’s rubbish! There are a lot more songs on YouTube music and I can also add my own recordings without having to be an artist.
