20 Feb 2014 – Berimbau Practice
I need to start practicing playing the berimbau and singing more. Right now I can just about sing and play Angola at the same time. When I try to sing and play São Bento Pequeno I get muddled up. I can play and sing to São Bento Grande most of the time, that toque seems to come more naturally.
So I’ve recorded myself playing and singing (wanted to hear what I sound like) and here it is – will be interesting to record again in a few months time and see how much progress I’ve made. I couldn’t play Angola and sing at the same time a few months ago, so I’m quite pleased with that. I haven’t developed a callous on my left little finger yet, that’s on the TODO list!
